MEGA GREEN SMOOTHIE & THE COLOR OF LOVE - JUICE SERIES #4

Hello Gorgeous!

We've arrived at the Fourth Chakra, the Heart, resonating with the vibration of green. This chakra serves as the bridge between our lower and upper physical and energetic bodies. The Heart represents the ultimate 'inner retreat'. It moves and drives us in mysterious and wondrous ways. Yet, when unbalanced, it can pose the most challenging obstacles in our human experience.

During my years of yoga practice, there was a pronounced emphasis on yoga poses that open the heart. Chakras have always intrigued me deeply. Each one offers a treasure trove of tools beneficial to its nature, ranging from foods, gemstones, yoga poses, and elements to mantras, essential oils, and more.

Coincidentally, the foods beneficial for the heart chakra are also ingredients in our fantastic Green Organic Universal Mask. This mask was crafted to deeply nourish, balance, calm, and purify.

You'll discover the same truth in Holly's remarkable recipe below. Enjoy these expressions of love for your 'inner and outer heart retreat'.

MEGA GREEN SMOOTHIE AND THE COLOR OF LOVE

Featuring Dr. Alkaitis’ Universal Mask + veggies

Q: Holly tell us about your September creation and how the Dr. Alkaitis Universal Mask inspired you?

A: Hello Trish! Now that we're discussing the heart chakra and its signature color, green, I am reminded of the Dr. Alkaitis Universal Mask with its abundant healing green grasses, sea vegetables, and seeds. Many call this mask "a green smoothie for your face!" Drawing inspiration from it, I've incorporated several of the nutritious and tasty green veggies found in the Universal Mask into my smoothie recipe, including wheatgrass, kale, parsley, and pumpkin seeds!

Q: Why is Green associated with love?

A: Green is associated with love because it symbolizes life, renewal, growth, and healthy relationships. These elements are all embodied by the heart chakra, which reflects our ability to give and receive love to ourselves and others. Green evokes a sense of calm and peace.

The heart chakra aligns not just with the heart but also with our lungs, pericardium, arms, and hands, and is linked to the Element Air. As such, breath plays a crucial role in unlocking the heart chakra. My aim in crafting this green smoothie recipe was to create a moment for us to slow down, truly savoring the aroma, taste, and essence of the vibrant green ingredients we're nourishing our bodies with. It's an opportunity to bask in the plant's healing green energy and to practice self-love and self-care.

Q: What special ingredient did you incorporate into your recipe?

A: Rose powder and food-grade dried rose petals are integral ingredients. Roses, being high vibrational plants, have long been linked to the heart chakra due to their remarkable ability to open and heal the heart. Roses symbolize serenity. Their exquisite pink shades stand out strikingly against the vibrant greens in the smoothie. When combined, they create a beautiful tonic that heals the heart.

Recipe for Wheatgrass Shot:

To juice, first cut wheatgrass an inch above its roots. 1/4 of a cup of firmly packed wheatgrass will typically yield one wheatgrass shot. Run through juicer.

Another alternative is to place 1/4 cup of wheatgrass in a blender with 1/4 cup filtered water (1:1 ratio). Blend well and then strain with cheesecloth into a bowl or glass.

It’s highly recommended to drink wheatgrass shot by itself on an empty stomach for maximum health benefits. Drink your smoothie bowl 20 minutes later.

Mega Green Smoothie Bowl Ingredients:

• 1 Cup Spinach
• 1 Cup Kale
• 1 Cup Parsley
• 1 and 1/2 Kiwi (skins removed)
• 1/4 of an Avocado
• 1/4 Cup Soaked Pumpkin Seeds (See note below)
• Filtered Water (just enough to blend into a creamy smoothie)

Place all of the above ingredients into a blender and blend until creamy. Pour into a bowl and top with the following special ingredients:

• 1/2 tsp Rose Powder
• Food Grade Dried Rose Petals
• 1/2 Sliced Kiwi
• Sprinkle of chopped pumpkin seeds

*Note: To soak pumpkin seeds place 1/4 cup of raw pumpkin seeds (pepitas) into a glass jar and cover with filtered water. Place in fridge and let soak for 24hrs. Drain and rinse.

From our heart to yours!
