OUR STORY

THE ALCHEMY OF LIFE

Insiders of the green beauty scene often affectionately refer to Dr. Alkaitis as “the Godfather of Organic Skin Care”. During the early 1990’s he became aware of the potentially harmful ingredients present in the skin care products his beloved wife Paula and daughter Trish were using. To protect their health, he used his extensive research and knowledge of plants to develop and formulate a high performance skin care line, working exclusively with completely clean, edible ingredients. He introduced the first products of his line in 1996. A true pioneer in the field, he was the first to start formulating with the strict guideline that we still use today.

THE LEGACY: A WORD

FROM TRISH ALKAITIS

Twenty-six years ago, my father, Dr. Saulius Alkaitis gifted these products to my mother when he discovered that the ingredients in her supposedly ‘natural’ skin care products contained harmful chemicals and were not in fact as safe as they claimed to be.

As a chemist, he had full knowledge of the effects and consequences of using these chemicals, and it was easy for him to dissect ingredient labels to get a snapshot of the future damage they could cause to the body. He took all his research and plant knowledge and went to work using an absolute formulating guideline: “if you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin”™. He insisted on working only with edible, certified organic, biodynamic, and ethically wild-crafted ingredients of the highest quality from around the world.

Around the time he first started formulating products, I had my own skincare troubles that included a bout of adult cystic bleeding acne from cheek to cheek. I turned to my father for help and he sent me the very first formulas in stock bottles. After a few days of using them, my skin (after two solid years of struggling) calmed down dramatically. I immediately named him a ‘Genius’ and myself his ‘human test subject’ and I have never looked back.

These products changed my life. They restored and nourished my skin in ways that I was told would never be possible without more aggressive internal and external treatments. I'm reminded every day to remember the power of plants and nature, and to fully acknowledge and embrace a balanced, holistic lifestyle that will activate true inner and outer health and beauty.

Dr. Alkaitis was firmly rooted in the world of science and had a deep understanding of the majestic world of plants. The extensive research he conducted in the world of medicinal plants convinced him that there is only one rational approach to achieve timeless beauty: formulating products that are brimming with the extraordinary properties raw whole plants can provide us.

Plant extraction techniques that work with the

raw whole plant; root, stem, leaf & flower.

In order to preserve the phytonutrients and therapeutic value of the high-quality ingredients, Dr. Alkaitis developed sophisticated plant extraction techniques that allowed him to work with raw whole plant; root, stem, leaf and flower. The therapeutic value of a plant is found in the plant as a whole, not just in a specific part. The extracts are combined into signature complexes. The unique intermingling of ingredients in these signature complexes act as adaptogens.

Our skin care is raw, we manufacture the products without ever heating ingredients above body temperature. This allows all these beautiful ingredients to remain full of enzymatic activity and in turn give full therapeutic benefits to your skin.

All our ingredients are of an excellent quality and sourced from the world’s most pristine places. For plants to bequeath us with their optimal life force, they have to exist in a living environment. The soil must be alive; the air must be alive.

Healthy, living plants, suffused with the energy of life, are the foundation of our products. The location in which the plants grow, affects the life force and the life potential of the plants. There are certain areas of the world where the cosmic, spiritual and earth forces intertwine to create an exceptionally potent environment for life.

It is in these special places all over the world where we source our ingredients from growers and wild crafters that we know and trust. These relationships have been developed over decades of professional and personal interaction, and we monitor the quality of their practices and procedures strictly. Dr. Alkaitis comprehensively studied the skin’s tasks, its interaction with, and reactions to various influences. His holistic approach to skin care grew from this knowledge and he found that the skin should be treated as the whole living organism it is, and not as a collection of concerns. It is important to know that when your skin is dry, oily, acne prone, or you're experiencing eczema, rosacea, perioral dermatitis or cystic acne, it simply means your skin is out of balance.

That is why Dr. Alkaitis does not develop products for fixed skin types, instead he works with the intelligence of raw whole plants to develop signature complexes that act as adaptogens.
