A Conversation With Paisley Pahlmann: Holistic Esthetician & Certified Reiki Master
Paisley is a licensed holistic esthetician and certified intuitive reiki energy worker and instructor at the master level. She has been practicing holistic skincare and energy work for over 20 years. She is the co-founder and owner of the Sacred Being Wellness Studio, a cozy, soul nourishing studio located in Black Mountain, NC which is nestled in the footprint of the sacred Seven Sisters mountain range.
Paisley's mission is to offer exceptional personalized treatments, including holistic skincare rituals using Dr. Alkaitis Raw Organic Skin Food, Reiki energy work, and vibrational tuning fork sound therapy.
As an empathic energy worker she is well known for her unique tuning fork sound vibration facial rituals, and crystal Gua Sha, Kansa Wand, and facial reflexology massage sessions. Paisley believes that wellness stems from practicing sacred self-care.
A regular skin care ritual at home is important for nourishing your skin and soul. Taking 5 to 10 minutes at the beginning and end of the day for your skin care needs can be an amazingly meditative, sacred, self-care practice. Taking the time to deeply smell each individual product that you put on your skin and applying it with intention can shift the entire experience. Perhaps find a mantra for yourself to meditate on as you allow the skin food elixirs and masks to work their individual benefits. - Paisley Pahlmann
1. What do you like about Dr. Alkaitis Skincare products?
I’ve used Dr. Alkaitis personally and professionally for over half of my professional career. This line was carefully chosen for my wellness studio because it utilizes the purest, organic, raw, plant based ingredients that are essential to the well-being and metabolic balance of my client’s skin. The antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties make this line deeply nourishing for even the most sensitive skin types.
2. Which is your favorite Dr. Alkaitis product and why?
My favorite product is the Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel. This calming anti-inflammatory gel soothes my hormonal flare-ups like no other. I love layering it over the Dr. Alkaitis Ageless Facial Elixir which deeply nourishes my sensitive skin with potent Ayurvedic herbal antioxidant goodness, leaving my skin healthy and glowing.
3. Why are facials important?
A regular holistic facial ritual is important because as we age our skin does not exfoliate on its own as quickly. A holistic facial ritual using Dr. Alkaitis Raw Organic Skin Food will brighten your complexion by gently sloughing away dead skin cells. This will enhance cellular regeneration and allow for the antioxidant-rich ingredients to penetrate on a deeper level, leaving you with a healthy glow. Holistic facial rituals will also leave you feeling relaxed and energetically revived.
4. How often do you recommend getting a facial?
Every individual's skin care needs are different so it’s important to do a personal assessment with your Holistic Esthetician. I generally recommend that my clients come in once a month for a holistic facial ritual to maintain balance of their skin & spirit. If you are working on a specific issue, your Holistic Esthetician might recommend you come in on a more frequent basis.
5. How do we choose a facial treatment?
It’s always best to consult with your personal Holistic Esthetician so that you can reach your skin wellness goals together.
6. Why is a skin care routine important at home?
A regular skin care ritual at home is important for nourishing your skin and soul. Taking 5 to 10 minutes at the beginning and end of the day for your skin care needs can be an amazingly meditative, sacred, self-care practice. Taking the time to deeply smell each individual product that you put on your skin and applying it with intention can shift the entire experience. Perhaps find a mantra for yourself to meditate on as you allow the skin food elixirs & masks to work their individual benefits.
7. How long does it take for someone to start to see results with facials and home care products?
After a holistic facial ritual your skin will feel nourished and you will leave with a healthy glow, the same goes for using the products at home. Of course your skin will continue to improve and feel better with consistent, regular facials and at home rituals.
8. Tell us about a skincare habit that everyone should have and one that everyone should abandon.
I would love to see more people embrace the idea of sacred ritual within skin care. Applying the Dr. Alkaitis Organic Nourishing Oil or the Dr. Alkaitis Ageless Facial Elixir with a chilled Gua Sha crystal and/or crystal roller can be a soul nourishing way to massage the product into your skin.
A habit that I would love to see my clients let go of is picking. I’m always concerned about my clients over-picking at their skin & causing damage. I’d highly recommend abandoning that unfortunate habit.
9. When should someone make changes to their skincare routine?
I recommend looking at your skin care needs and making necessary adjustments seasonally.
10. Tell us about a new skincare treatment that you love.
I’ve loved incorporating an Ayurvedic massage technique using a Kansa Wand with the Dr. Alkaitis oils & elixirs into my sessions. I’ve also fallen in love with utilizing tuning fork vibrational sound therapy on acupressure points and energy centers and singing bowls with my holistic facial rituals. These mind, body, skin nourishing wellness sessions leave my clients with glowing healthy skin and a revived spirit.

Hello, Marisol!
Thank you for your beautiful kind words! As a tip, I’ve found a great way to stop picking is to spot treat instead. In my opinion, The Dr. Alkaitis Soothing Gel & The Dr. Alkaitis Organic Universal Mask make great spot treatments. They are both loaded with calming anti-inflammatory ingredients. Let me know if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing you in session again soon.
Wishing you peace & wellness,
Paisley

Well first off, congratulations sweet dear sister!
This is a beautiful perspective on skin care. As a busy mom of 2 toddlers I am surely lacking the soul nourishing benefits of a skin care routine. Also being very mindful of products used on our skin, this may be my solution for getting one started. My heart longs for a unique self care experience such as the ones you offer. Any way to assess my skin virtually with some recommendations?!

What a beautiful article! As someone who has received sacred skin care from Paisley, I can say, she is spot on with all of this! I especially loved the encouragement to make skin care a ritual. I believe we deserve to adorn our bodies and our skin with ritual and care! I also may not stop picking 😉, but I appreciate the reminder!
