MISSION STATEMENT & VISION:

Wildcraft is based on self-care rituals that support a healthy mind, body and spirit. Our commitment to you is offering fresh, healthy, and wildly effective products that are mindfully-made using ethical practices. The most popular categories that we stock are plant-based skincare and clean, healthy makeup.

Our shelves are stocked with holistic skincare, cosmetics, fragrance, hair care, body care, and wellness products — all clean, non-toxic and cruelty-free — as well as unique gifts and apparel. Every brand is tested by our team for efficacy and safety prior to joining our lineup.

Located in Charleston, South Carolina, founder Holly Thorpe opened Wildcraft’s doors in February 2016.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO OPEN WILDCRAFT?

My inspiration for opening Wildcraft came in the fall of 2015 after my husband Sean and I took a trip to California to visit friends and explore the Bay area, down to Big Sur.

Throughout the trip I was making special trips to visit shops that carried particular lines that I wasn't able to feel, smell or try here in Charleston — ones I had only seen online or on social media. At that time, I was also introduced to skincare lines that I immediately fell in love with that changed my relationship with my own skin. Dr. Alkaitis Holistic Organic Skin Food was one of them.

Then this wild idea came to me soon after we got home, "Why not open a shop that offers these organic, clean products to my own community?!?"

I have been a skincare product junkie for as long as I can remember. I love researching and learning about ingredients and finding products that actually do what they say, so this idea was not big a stretch for me. My friends and family had been using me for this type of information for years, so it literally felt organic.

Leaving my career as an art director to do something I'd never done before was a big leap of faith. It was terrifying. There was a lot of prayer and trust in God happening. Still is!

WHAT SETS WILDCRAFT APART?

The genuine love and care the Wildcraft team has for our customers, who we affectionately call our Wildlings. We get to know them and know them by name. Education is rooted in all that we do. We offer SkinWise Consultations bookable throughout the year to give personalized, one-on-one time to take what is overwhelming for someone and help make it simple and exactly what their skin needs at the time.
 
We only source from brands who we trust, how they source and in their ethos. For a product to be on our shelves, we LOVE it and use it ourselves! We only share healthy, unique and mindfully made products.

Our goal is to create a peaceful, loving space that shares products and experiences built on trust and genuine care. We never stop learning ourselves. Whether it's through our education or in-store events, we want to provide value and be an asset to our community. 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DR. ALKAITIS PRODUCT AND WHY?

Definitely the Ageless Elixir. The scent, the formula, it is my absolute favorite for slow ageing with a lot of skin soothing and calming ingredients. It's such a powerhouse! Then I love the whipped texture of the day and eye cremes that make my skin glow!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE DR. ALKAITIS ORGANICS SKINCARE LINE?

I had never heard of "raw, food-grade" skincare before trying Dr. Alkaitis! It all blew my mind, that level of ingredient sourcing and quality. Everything so fresh and alive! It felt like the difference between force and aggression to healing and receiving. My skin knows exactly what to do with it's intention, which is to bring health and balance. This line out performs any brand you can get at a doctor's office.

WHAT'S CURRENTLY INSPIRING YOU MOST ABOUT THE HOLISTIC WELLNESS WORLD?

When I first opened Wildcraft, everything we shared seemed so new to 99% of who walked in. This idea of clean beauty and the impact of it on our health. There was a lot of foundational level education going on! Now, it's become more mainstream and I'm so thankful for that!
