Founded in 2023, SommetBeauty is a curator of clean, sustainable, and luxurious beauty brands, including Dr Alkaitis Organics. In addition to sourcing and offering the finest in clean beauty, SommetBeauty provides facial and body treatments at its locations in New York City and Canoe Place Inn & Cottages in Hampton Bays, New York. The company's mission is to help clients reach their highest potential in mind and body through restorative treatments and efficacious products. Inspired by the French pharmacy, SommetBeauty and its team of expert estheticians and sales associates are dedicated to prescribing the best in clean beauty. We spoke with the team at SommetBeauty, and the answers to some of our questions are below.

What is your Mission Statement and vision for SommetBeauty? 

Sommet in French means summit, and you cannot summit a mountain without putting in the work / climbing to the top.  Our society focuses on the quick fixes, but anything worthwhile, takes time. At Sommetbeauty, we work tirelessly and over a long horizon to help you achieve a new height of wellness.  

What specific experiences do you want your clients to have when they visit your location?

I want all of my clients to feel restored and invigorated, to claim their natural beauty. They need to leave with a newfound sense of confidence. 

What do you especially love about the Dr. Alkaitis Organics skincare line?

I love the efficacy of the line.  In this competitive business, you have to really find brands like Dr. Alkaitis Organics skincare that do the work whilst being clean and conscious. We shouldn't have to sacrifice one or the other, and your skincare line holds up all the pillars of Sommetbeauty.

What feedback have your clients/customers provided about Dr. Alkaitis products?

It works! I have heard "it works!" from everyone who engages with the line. Whether it's the Organic Soothing Gel after too much fun in the sun (or even lasers) or the Organic Day and Night Crèmes, every client sees results.  

What are your thoughts on the use of organic skincare products?

Organic skincare products are the best kind, much like organic produce or fish, etc. If you're able to invest in organic skincare, all the better. Part of my reason for starting Sommetbeauty was to help everyone in an urban demographic like New York City get back to our roots and back to nature. We're always looking for the next best thing, when sometimes, it's about uncovering the past and the roots of everything instead. 

What common misconceptions about holistic skincare do you encounter, and how do you address them?

I think people often question the efficacy of holistic skincare. Will my skin really look better? Will some of these natural ingredients cause allergies or flare ups? Of course, if you're allergic, it's important to notify your esthetician and the team, but holistic skincare actually, in my opinion, works the best. I have tried so many products over the years and seen so many different beauty trends come and go, but quality holistic skincare lines and treatments truly change the composition of your skin. We've seen clients with many allergies and sensitivities to the actives in holistic skincare be able to tolerate them over time after a series of treatments where we focus on rebuilding your skin barrier. We also talk about the ecosystem of holistic skincare - diet and exercise matter.  Altogether, that's truly what makes holistic skincare work!

What advice do you have for someone transitioning to a holistic skincare routine for the first time? 

Think of things holistically - in other words, look at what you're eating, how frequently you're moving, how you're handling stress, and how often you're investing in quality ingredients and treatments for yourself. Working on all those things little by little will lead to quicker and more sustainable results. Another important thing to take into account is that it will take time - it's not a quick fix, it's an attitude and a discipline, and all of our team at Sommetbeauty is truly committed to helping you make that promise to yourself.
