We are all familiar with the term ‘dehydrated skin’, but what really causes skin to be dehydrated?
Your skin can be dehydrated when:
When your skin is dehydrated, it usually means your skin is out of balance. Dry skin is always dehydrated. Oily skin usually isn’t, although it can be. Oily skin is shiny due to overactive sebaceous glands. Pores might appear large and can be congested as oily skin is more prone to acne. Oily skin has to be balanced to stabilize oil production and minimize the appearance of large pores.
When oily skin is dehydrated, it’s safe to say the skin’s natural barrier is disrupted. This causes the skin to be even more imbalanced. Sadly, in many cases this barrier is disrupted by skin care products that are labeled ‘for oily skin’ or ‘to treat acne’. These products often strip the skin of its natural barrier, causing it to be even more out of balance. Also, too much sun, frequent use of air conditioning, and hormonal issues can contribute to the problem. A vicious circle that only can be broken when the skin is brought back into balance. When your skin’s natural barrier is in optima forma, it protects the skin and prevents it from evaporating too much moisture. It also protects against bacteria, fungus and viruses.
Again, a holistic approach is the only way to go. You need to address your skin’s imbalance with skin care that is organic, 100% natural, gentle, free from toxins and meticulously formulated to guide your skin into a balanced state. Our moisturizers distinguish themselves because they can be blended for a customized treatment. Adding a drop of our Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil to our Organic Day Cream or Organic Night Cream will give your skin that little ‘extra something’ to protect and nourish it. Adding two drops of our Organic Herbal Toner to our Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil will create a lightweight serum. Our Purifying Facial Cleanser gently cleanses and removes impurities without ‘stripping’, and our Herbal Toner is formulated to balance your skin’s natural Ph.
On our website we offer a skin care regimen to balance and strengthen your skin. Find out which regimen is suited for your skin.
The way you nourish and treat your body matters as much as which skin care products you use and of course drinking plenty of fresh clean water is a good start. But i
f your diet isn’t well balanced and you are sleep deprived or stressed, your skin isn’t likely to find balance either. Luckily, if you take a closer look at your lifestyle as well as your beauty regimen, and you are willing to make some necessary changes, you should be able to achieve good results!
