I firmly believe that most solutions and cures for the difficulties we encounter, can be found in nature. After all, everything is connected and we are part of this beautiful, magical eco-system here on earth. As you all know, Dr. Alkaitis comprehensively studied the skin’s tasks, its interaction with and reactions to various influences. He formulates his products with exactly the nutrients your skin needs to perform those tasks. He makes his own extracts, using sophisticated techniques that allow him to work with the whole, high quality plants; root, stem and leaf.
For quite some time mainstream research was focused on finding solutions in anything but raw natural products. Luckily, awareness is rising and every year more research is done to try and uncover the fascinating interrelationship between nature’s abundance of plants, herbs, fruits, vegetables, flowers and oils and our overall health.
A nice example of one of these recent mainstream research projects is that of a team of Spanish and Italian researchers. This research showed that the anthocyanin in strawberries (that same anthocyanin is responsible for the deep red color of the strawberry) protects our bodies from harmful UVA radiation. Skin cells that absorbed the anthocyanin were less susceptible to DNA damage and had a longer ‘life span’. On top of it all, the anthocyanin proved to have powerful anti-inflammatory properties.
So why aren’t all skin care manufacturers formulating with raw and pure gems from nature? Well to be honest… I don’t know. I do know that, believe it or not, a lot of customers can’t get used to skin care products that have a natural color or a natural scent. For a long time now, most skin care products have been bright white in color and artificially scented. And people have gotten used to that. So now, when they experience an all natural and pure cream, they have to get used to the scent and color all over again.
Luckily awareness is also changing in that area. More and more people are discovering how their skin and body benefit from the rich oils and medicinal herbs that Mother Earth has to offer. And how using these organic and pure products is decreasing their ecological footprint and also making testing on animals absolutely unnecessary.
Are you new to organic skin care? Try to approach the products with an open mind. Try to recognize Mother Earth in all her abundance in the scent and consistency of each and every product. I assure you, you’ll be amazed by the way your skin will radiate when you nourish it properly….
