Since I can remember I’ve started my day with a large bowl of oatmeal. This breakfast for champions is said to promote strong veins, lower my blood pressure, increase my metabolism and give me more energy. And it does. But the real reason for this life long breakfast habit is; I really like it!
However…did you know that colloidal oatmeal has a long history of beneficial use in dermatology? It has proved to be highly effective in treating atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, rash and other conditions of the skin.
Over the years a lot of research has been done on the benefits of oatmeal on the skin and the outcome is stunning. Oatmeal proves to be able to protect the skin and provides relief when the skin is irritated, red and or itchy due to a rash, acne, eczema or insect bites.
The carbs and proteins in oatmeal have the ability to attach to the skin, providing it with a protecting layer that helps the skin to retain its water. The proteins help restore the skin’s natural pH balance while the fats strengthen the skin and again help it to retain moisture. The fibers contain beta-glucan which help the skin attract moisture. You can imagine this is particularly beneficial to dry skin and skin that is prone to eczema.
The many functional properties of colloidal oatmeal make it an effective cleanser, moisturizer and buffer, as well as a soothing and protective anti-inflammatory agent.
Dr. Alkaitis formulated his Beautifying Mask, Universal Mask, Enzyme Exfoliating Mask, Cellular Repair Mask and Flower Mask with this powerful organic ingredient. To amplify results you can blend the masks with raw organic honey.
I’ll tell you all about the benefits of nature’s liquid gold in the next blog!
