Welcome back to Week 11 of our product blog series.

Last week’s post was all about getting that youthful glow from fruit for your face, this week’s post follows the tasty theme with the restorative power of veggies for your face!

What exactly does this mask do?

The ultimate therapeutic treatment mask, Organic Universal Mask nourishes, soothes, calms and rejuvenates sensitive, irritated and inflamed skin. An excellent follow up mask for post skin peels and microdermabrasion. Filled to the brim with all your veggies, healing grasses, and seaweeds, this mask is extremely high in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.

In a spa setting this would be one of two of our ‘finishing’ mask treatments, with the other being the Cellular Repair Mask.

Good to Know

This mask contains grass. Do not use if you have grass allergies.

Something that comes up a lot is that people want to know what is the ‘active’ ingredient in our products that make them ‘work’.

Every single plant, oil, and herb that Dr. Alkaitis uses are abounding with richly beneficial and active ingredients. One is not more important than the other. Each ingredient has equal value, and every product is 100% plant active.

When they are all combined together they work in a holistic manner to nourish, repair and rejuvenate your skin.

To put it simply: when you eat your meal, do you think that your fish is more nutritious than your veggies or your grains, or do you trust that your body needs a little bit of everything to maintain a healthy balance?

All of our products are adaptogens for your skin.

What is an adaptogen?

It’s a term often used by herbalists to refer to a natural herbal plant that is proposed to increase the body’s resistance to stress, trauma, anxiety, and fatigue. They are also referred to as rejuvenating herbs, restoratives, or qi-tonics. All adaptogens contain antioxidants, but not all antioxidants are adaptogens.

Adaptogens have a normalizing effect on the body, capable of balancing the immune system, the endocrine system, and maintaining optimal homeostasis.

So, with this in mind you will see from the ingredients that this is a real meal for the skin.

How often can you use this mask?

Once a week or more, as needed.

For our raw food and vegan friends, please note, that this is the ONLY product in our entire range that contains an animal ingredient. This mask contains organic goat milk protein.

How to Use: (my personal favorite recipe)

• Mix one full teaspoon of Universal Mask with
• One full teaspoon of organic goat milk yogurt (or Keifer)
• Add one full teaspoon of raw organic honey
• Blend well in a small bowl. (The texture should be like a creamy yogurt, not too thick or thin.)
• Apply with fingertips and keep on for up to 20 minutes.
• Rinse with warm damp towels and follow with Dr. Alkaitis’ Herbal Toner.

Note: You may choose to only use water, and omit either the honey and or yogurt. All are perfectly fine choices. So long as an aqueous substance activates the mask, it will work. If you do only use water with this mask, keep water mister handy to spritz your face every now and then to keep the mixture moist while on your skin.

By the way, when mixed this mask is a deep green color, which usually evokes lots of giggles from loved ones.

What exactly does this mask do?

Organic Cellular Repair Mask will repair, regenerate, and fortify your environmentally damaged and/or aging skin. In a spa setting this would be one of two of our ‘finishing’ mask treatments.

This mask contains real strawberries. Do not use if you have allergies to strawberries.

Why I LOVE this mask

Check out these ingredients and tell me it’s not heavenly! Chock full of your antioxidants, and not only good for your outside, but good for you inside too – (as all our products are).

Did you know that all our products are ‘edible’ ?

Not that you would want to eat this mask, but your animals just might be sneaking into your bathroom and stealing from your bowl! I kid you not; I have had several people write to me that they can’t keep their cats and dogs away from our masks! I don’t recommend this as animal food but I do feel that it is indicative of just how clean our products are – because, trust me, animals generally don’t want to eat something that’s not good for them.

Dr. Alkaitis Organic Enzyme Exfoliating Mask

Welcome back to Week 9 of our product blog series.

For those of you who have sensitive and acne prone skin, last week’s post about the organic flower mask might have made you feel a little left out… but I already knew that this week was going to be for you!  (Well, it’s actually for everyone but has a special place just for you!)

Who is the Organic Exfoliating Enzyme mask good for?

• Sensitive skin
• Acne and troubled skin conditions

What exactly does this treatment mask do?

Organic Enzyme Exfoliating Mask is a biological peel and is ideal for skin that needs to be renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated. It is a gentle and effective anti-aging treatment. It thoroughly removes all of the accumulated debris in the skin, while supplying essential phyto-nutrients, antioxidants, and minerals to the skin. This mask also has a brightening and lightening effect, which makes it excellent for hyper-pigmentation.

Good to Know:

This mask should not be used more than twice a month or left on longer then 7-10 minutes. (10 minutes recommend for thicker oily skin)

• Mix one full teaspoon of powdered mask with approximately one teaspoon of spring or purified water in a small bowl and mix into thin paste.

• Apply evenly with fingertips to face, neck, and décolletage.

• Keep mask moist by spritzing with water.

• After 7 minutes, rinse face with lukewarm water and Dr. Alkaitis Organic Purifying Cleanser to remove the mask residue. (It’s normal to feel a slight ‘gummy’ residue left behind on the skin)

The best way to remove all our masks is with warm soft damp towels. You will most likely need to completely rinse 2 or 3 times to fully remove this product.

• You may pay special attention to congested areas such as around the nose, chin, and forehead.

Weekly Clarifying Mask

• Mix one full teaspoon of powdered flower mask into a small bowl.

• Add one teaspoon of raw organic honey.

• Optional: Add one teaspoon of organic goat’s milk yogurt.  (In a later post, I will explain why we recommend these two ingredients).

• Optional : Add 2-3 drops of Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil to this mixture.

• Blend together into a smooth paste the consistency of yogurt. You can add more moisture as needed.

• Smooth on to your face, neck and décolletage and keep moist by spritzing with water.

• Leave this mask on for 10-20 minutes.

• When you are ready to remove this mask, you can gently tap your damp fingers on to your skin and gently exfoliate in circular motions with the mixture for a few seconds before removing with warm damp towels. You will need to rinse 2-3 times to fully remove product.

Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel

Hello Everybody,

I am excited today to talk to you about the Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel. I have to admit that this product is one of my personal favorites and I have been known to fondly reference to it as my herbal first aid kit and my skin savior.

It was there for me when after years of having flawless skin, at age 29 much to my dismay I broke out with the worst case of cystic acne from cheek to chin to cheek. So bad that my ‘celebrity esthetician’ deemed me unfixable and sent me off to go get a prescription for a year of Accutane.

Many tears later, and a firm resolve that I must get to the bottom of this naturally and organically, as Accutane was NEVER an option for me: (http://www.drugs.com/accutane.html) a bottle wrapped in a plain paper bag labeled simply GEL arrived in the post.

This was the greatest gift my father had ever given me. Trust me, when I tell you I had tried everything; the more I put on all that smelly synthetic stuff on my skin the more irritated and inflamed my poor face got.

Since Dr. Alkaitis had just formulated this product, it didn’t come with specific instructions. All I can tell you is the moment I applied it I had instant relief from dryness and itchiness within a week.  All the red angry inflamed pustules actually started to look like they were HEALING! This truly was a miracle to me, and the first positive sign I had seen in two years of sheer agony and embarrassment of how the world saw me.

Because my skin condition was so unbalanced, being dry underneath, and oily on top, I could not wear a day cream. I quickly learned that this gel had hydrating and antibacterial qualities being in perfect balance of what I needed for my skin. From that moment on, the GEL lived in my bag and went with me everywhere. I believe that between this amazing product and my then newly found yoga classes, the two had saved my skin.

After cleansing with Dr. Alkaitis Purifying Cleanser, gently dry your face. Dispense a dime size amount of Soothing Gel into the palm of your hand and massage into your skin with your fingertips (it’s not necessary to use cotton pads, the ingredients are too good to waste on it!).

Acne, Eczema, Inflamed & Dry Itchy skin

Apply as needed on the face and body. It is recommended that when you are breaking out to refrain from using the day crème and use the Soothing Gel instead. Make-up may be worn on top. If you do wear make-up please try to use one that is free from chemicals such as RMS beauty organic make-up.

After-Shave & After-Wax

For men and women this makes a wonderful antibacterial after-shave & after-wax Soothing Gel for the whole body. You can also keep this product in the refrigerator and apply cold, which will feel great during the summer months on freshly shaved skin.

For Insect bites,  minor skin irritations & more …

Apply as needed. If it’s for your baby, try diluting a small amount of the Soothing Gel with purified water and applying on the affected areas. I have received feedback that this worked very well on some cases of cradle cap.
