Welcome back to Week 6 of our Product Blog series.

The lovely scent alone is reason enough to put your best face forward when starting the day with Dr. Alkaitis Organic Day Crème.

How to Use:

For Extremely Dry Skin:

• Mix one or two pumps of Dr. Alkaitis Organic Day Crème into the palm of your hand. Squeeze 1-3 drops of the Organic Nourishing Treatment Oil.
• Blend well and massage into your face and neck.
• Wait a few minutes for the product to fully absorb and then apply your makeup.

How to Use Dr. Alkaitis Nourishing Treatment Oil

For your Body

After your bath or shower, smooth the oil onto your damp body. With long movements towards your heart, massage the oil in well. Apply daily.

For Extremely Dry Skin

I have spoken with many women who are on various medications or hormones that dry them out so much internally and externally; they never feel like they can get hydrated, while much of this is about what you are taking internally you can try the Oil for your ‘external’ dryness:

If you wear make-up, try mixing 2-3 drops of the Oil into your Day Crème. Wait a few minutes before you apply your make-up.

If you don’t wear make-up, then go ahead and apply 2-3 drops of the Oil on your face and massage in well. Re-apply as needed.

Repeat in the evening. You may add to your Night Crème or just use alone.

For your Scalp & Hair

After I apply the Oil on my body after a shower, I run the remaining Oil on my fingertips onto the ends of my hair. You may also gently warm a small amount of Oil and treat yourself to a Warm Oil Hair Treatment. The amount will depend on the length of your hair. Remember the more Oil you use, the longer it will take to wash out.

Comb the Oil through to the ends of your hair and cover with a towel or shower cap. I try to leave this on as long as possible for the full benefit, sometimes even overnight. The best way to rinse the Oil out of your hair is to shampoo a few times with Dr. Alkaitis Organic Shampoo and then rinse with fresh or canned organic Coconut Milk. This is a great treatment to do once or twice a month, to revive stressed and damaged hair.

For your Nails & Cuticles

This is actually a critical part of my manicure & pedicure.

I massage the Oil onto my nails and then take a hot bath – after the bath your skin is soft and pliable, and then it’s a cinch to remove cuticles. Re-apply Oil on your hands and feet after bath and finish up your mani & pedi.

For your Spa & At-Home Facials

This is the product that your esthetician is massaging into your skin during a signature Dr. Alkaitis Organic Skin Food Facial Treatment.

The Oil softens the skin and dissolves clogged pores and allows for easy extractions. At home:

• Massage Oil on your cleansed face and leave on for 20 minutes or longer. (Please do not attempt to give yourself extractions.)
• Rinse with a warm damp wash cloth
• Cleanse with the Purifying Cleaner.
• Finish with the Herbal Toner.

At-Home Mask Treatments

When preparing a Dr. Alkaitis Cellular Repair or Universal Mask, I like to add a few drops of the Oil to my Mask mixture. It helps to keep the Mask moist and provides extra hydration to your skin.

For Oily & Acne Skin

Let me help set the record straight on a partial skin myth, Oil is not bad for your skin, actually oil cuts oil. I did not make this up. This is a 5000-year-old Ayurvedic healing tradition. This means that because you have an imbalanced skin condition, the best way to treat it is with the ‘imbalance’ (oil). Our instinct would be to dry out the oil; yet this is actually wrong because our skin then works double time to re-establish the oil that we just worked so hard to dry out. Again, this only works if the oil is therapeutic high quality oil.

The best way to use this for imbalanced skin is on a cleansed face before bed. Massage a few drops of Oil on the affected areas. I would do this every other night until you see improvement.

Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel

Hello Everybody,

I am excited today to talk to you about the Dr. Alkaitis Organic Soothing Gel. I have to admit that this product is one of my personal favorites and I have been known to fondly reference to it as my herbal first aid kit and my skin savior.

It was there for me when after years of having flawless skin, at age 29 much to my dismay I broke out with the worst case of cystic acne from cheek to chin to cheek. So bad that my ‘celebrity esthetician’ deemed me unfixable and sent me off to go get a prescription for a year of Accutane.

Many tears later, and a firm resolve that I must get to the bottom of this naturally and organically, as Accutane was NEVER an option for me: (http://www.drugs.com/accutane.html) a bottle wrapped in a plain paper bag labeled simply GEL arrived in the post.

This was the greatest gift my father had ever given me. Trust me, when I tell you I had tried everything; the more I put on all that smelly synthetic stuff on my skin the more irritated and inflamed my poor face got.

Since Dr. Alkaitis had just formulated this product, it didn’t come with specific instructions. All I can tell you is the moment I applied it I had instant relief from dryness and itchiness within a week.  All the red angry inflamed pustules actually started to look like they were HEALING! This truly was a miracle to me, and the first positive sign I had seen in two years of sheer agony and embarrassment of how the world saw me.

Because my skin condition was so unbalanced, being dry underneath, and oily on top, I could not wear a day cream. Today you will learn about the amazing qualities of:

Wait a few minutes for the Day Creme to soak in before applying your make-up. In the Evening, repeat the same procedure: Cleanse, Tone, Hydrate.

Soothing Treatment for Sunburned Skin:

Do the following: gently sponge your sunburn with tepid water and carefully towel dry. Apply a quarter-sized amount of the Toner onto the skin and let dry. Re-apply as needed. Hydrate with Dr. Alkaitis’ Organic Night Creme.

Today I will talk to you about the use of our facial cleanser, but before I start I want to tell you a little bit about the ingredients, which are used in our products.

We make  skin food.

• Apply a dime size amount of cleanser into the palm of your hand.
• With fingertips add a small amount of water.
• In circular motions create light foam with fingertips and apply to your face. Cleanse for a minute or two.
• Rinse your face either with your hands or with a washcloth and pat dry with a towel.
• Repeat in the evening.

Follow with the Dr. Alkaitis Toner or Dr. Alkaitis Soothing Gel depending on your skin condition.

It’s most characteristic trait of this product is the fact that it leaves your face so wonderfully soft and moist.

A Healthy Skin is a Beautiful Skin

Dr. Alkaitis’ motto is “a healthy skin is a beautiful skin,” I therefore decided to start our weekly talk discussing stress.

Stress causes among other things:

• sleep problems
• depression
• pain of any kind
• obesity
• skin conditions, such as eczema and acne.

It can suppress our immune system, raise our blood pressure and it can speed up the aging process. Unfortunately our skin is the only place that visibly shows our physical and psychological ailments and scars.
