NYC Garden

NYC Garden

Hello my cyber friends!

Please excuse my tiny hiatus from this blog. I had the unexpected joy of finding a garden apartment in NYC that required a swift and focused move. Now that I have a few herbs in the ground and a couple of wonderful get-togethers behind me, it’s time to have some more summer fun with you!

This is the last of our Product Blog Series, having covered our entire line; the Dr. Alkaitis Organic Travel Kit is pretty self-explanatory.

So we thought to make things more interesting it would be fun to throw a contest where four lucky friends will win a Dr. Alkaitis Travel Kit!!

Dr. Alkaitis Travel Kit

A retail value of $ 45.00, the kit contains 8 products: Purifying Cleanser, Toner, Soothing Gel, Nourishing Treatment Oil, Eye, Day, and Night Crème, and one mask pack, all in a clear plastic, re-sealable and re-usable airline friendly bag. This product kit should last anywhere between 7-12 days.

For a little extra inspiration I have asked my friend Cara Michelle, who is a NYC-based Shiatsu teacher and Healer, and also fellow blogger to share some of her ideas about the energy of summer according to Chinese Medicine…and here’s what she said,

The long, sunny days of summer welcome fun activities and heartfelt connection with friends and family. No wonder it is the favorite season for so many.

According to Chinese Medicine, summertime receives the elemental qualities of Fire and is expressed through joy, spiritual awareness and Love. We call this the Yang-iest time of the year because, if in balance, it will literally fire up a rush of physical, mental and emotional activity for you.

It’s no surprise that one of the internal organs that the Fire element relates to is the heart, which pumps oxygen-rich blood throughout your body. So to keep your body in balance around a more vibrant heart you will want to eat plenty of cooling foods and consider adding a routine siesta to your hot, summer afternoons.

Personally, the best part of summer is in praise for the sheer joy of being of alive!

I say if Chinese Medicine recommends cooling foods such as chilled cucumber soup and yummy salads made with watermelon, then that’s a great opportunity to host an afternoon picnic or plan a bbq with friends. Just be sure to go light on the poultry and beef when grilling.

But more importantly, since it is the perfect time to make sincere, heartfelt-connections with others then do it from deep within your soul, spanning all time and space, with no beginning and no ending. This is surely the best way to make the summer feel complete!”

We, at Dr. Alkaitis, West & East Coast offices, are eagerly looking forward to your creative genius!

Peace and Health,

Trish

P.S. Just because the kids get to have summer off doesn’t mean the adults can’t have a little playtime too!
